Name: Jake Taylor

Age: 20

University: University of Sussex

Course title: LLB Law

Year of study: 2

I have thus far found the course and the university a lot of fun. Although there is
a lot of reading to be done, the course is taught within a contextual framework so
that I am not just studying binding cases and statutes but also the sociological
principles that underpin them. I have also found there have been lots of great
speaker’s visiting the university, which has enabled me to make the most informed
decision about what I want to do with my degree.

I also like the fact that it is not a huge department, this has really allowed me to shine and get involved in as much as possible from mooting and rugby to being involved in the Student Law Body. I have also developed great relationships with many of my tutors who are always willing to help and give advice.

Aside from that, I really enjoy living in Brighton. It’s a great place to live and has an incredible nightlife, there is always something going on especially in the summer.
